Well, it’s set in an alternate universe, most likely the one that takes place after gat out of hell. If it does take place after GOOH then it has been hand recreated by god I guess, so characters are given new stories, and if there’s just another random universe in the multiverse he was created in a different way in this one. Infinite possibilities in the multiverse. I know it’s a cop out, but what’re you gonna do? They were reinventing the characters for this universe.
